I need a cheapish laptop asap. I don't want to pay over £300 for one, the laptop is going to be used mainly for surfing the net.

Can anybody recommend a decent laptop? I'm not fussy on the brand, btw.

I paid £259 for my Toshiba from Argos over six months ago and it's been fantastic.

I really don't see the need to spend a lot of money on computers.

After looking at this spec, it's a lot better for the money than some in this price range from the likes of PC World where the processor power is better plus you won't need to spend an hour in PC World while they try and flog you one of their extended warranties! Very Happy

Dell brand laptops are of a good build quality, I have seen one that has a better processor power although it is £28.99 over your budget.

I feel this model would last you longer in terms of speed etc and would enable you to do any office work on it, browse the web. The laptop also has a HDMI port which should enable you to hook the laptop up to an LCD TV to watch movies etc as well.

What model number is the Toshiba Dan?

Forgot to mention, how did Tony Pulis's team get on last night?

Culcheth you utter WUM. There's a lot of teams below Palace in action tonight, I've got my eye on them.

Model number is Toshiba Satellite C850-1G2. I don't think they do it at Argos anymore though.

Cheers boltonbonce, I have bought that Lenovo laptop today off Amazon. I already have another Lenovo and touch wood, it's been great so far. That was a cracking deal at Amazon, after doing a little research.  cheers
