Let's face it, they've all been good here and shit there, or they've only had one or two jobs in total.

The fact that there's basically nobody experienced out there that's been successful everywhere they've been tells you something about the job.
Chances are we'll end up with someone who at least one set of fans once disliked every bit as much as we dislike Freedman.

It's crazy when you think about it, but we've just gotta take a chance. Again.

I know getting Steve Clarke in would be a struggle but it's gotta be more likely than half the names on that list.

No name on that list jumps out at me, Zola is a nice guy but that's his problem he is too nice and the situation we are in right now I can't see him being the right man.

Out of any on the list I would in favour of either:-

Nigel Clough, Pressley or Hoddle.

Glenn Hoddle would obviously be good tactically as he's a bit of a thinker - unfortunately we don't have the players to play Hoddle's sort of game, can you imagine him trying to teach Spearing, Medo and Pratley to pass?

Yes you do but it doesn't have to be a case of throwing a dart at a list of names.

If Dyche left tomorrow I would hope that we would be looking at the likes of Graham Alexander and Paul Cook as the replacement.

One is a good manager already and the other 'will' be a good manager in time (the ultimate experienced professional).

I will let Boggers get on wiki and then give me his know nothing opinion on that  Rolling Eyes

How about Russell Slade? Can't argue about the job he has done with Orient.

At this point any man coming in will know it's

A) a poisonous atmosphere. b) absolutely no budget c) huge expectation.

not a particularly enticing brief.

It's not about feeling sorry for you.

I don't do score predictions where Burnley are concerned. I've never even bet for or against us... ever.

I hope that we get an early goal, as that will turn the crowd and may make Bolton come out of their shell, which will play into our hands.

No you can't.

A bit of loose cannon I reckon, mind you that may be what you need at the moment?

Hoddle was a good player ....but did nowt as a manager with clubs bigger than us.

Di Canio would be my pick out of that list.

Many on that list wouldn't even entertain us like Hoddle and Di Mateo. Others already have jobs they wouldn't leave. Of the rest I wouldn't take any of them. Brownie would be my choice but it clearly wouldn't happen whilst Gartside's here. Like some others though I'd also give Toddy another chance with someone like SKD or LSL as his assistant.

Pointless thread, sorry but it is. As long as Gartside is chairman you know what we'll get. Another failure, another clueless one dimensional clown with no plan B, no real plan A and we'll keep dropping down the divisions. The debt will continue to spiral, the football will continue to depress even the most optimistic people in the world and ten years from now Bolton Wanderers Football Club will be nothing more than a name in a book about the old days.

No self respecting manager who's got real ability will touch this job with a barge pole, no player with an ounce of self-esteem will agree to come here and for all the talk of us still being a "Big Club" for someone we aren't. We're a dying and soon to be extinct disaster zone as long as Eddie continues to remain silent and leave the Prancing Gurner in the boardroom.

Make no mistake I want Freedman gone now but until someone competent is in place to appoint the next manager we are dreaming if we think anyone but a complete failure or a naive gullible twerp will be appointed or even want to apply for the job.

The bookmakers have thrown up the usual suspects as always but even that list of already failed at least once or never had a club above League One before won't even show up for an interview. I know I wouldn't and I've loved this club for almost forty years.

Gartside out first, Freedman on the same day then get the job done right from the boardroom down is the only hope we have and that will never happen because Eddie either doesn't care or isn't capable of seeing the writing on the wall.

I've clicked Zola but I don't really want him or anyone else on that list. Frankly the man failed despite being given nine players from a Serie A team by the owners who also own the club he "borrowed" them from. He was given every possible advantage, damned near unlimited funds and was still beaten to the Prem by WBA.

Coleman failed as a club manager AND as a national team manager. Billy Davies isn't any better imo. All the men on your list have a history of failure elsewhere, most of them with much more money than any BWFC manager will EVER see as long as our finances are in this mess and I see no point to letting Gartside pick yet another clown.

For me it's Terry Butcher - hard as nails ands capable of sorting out the idle charlatans who put on the white shirt every week. He's not really managed at this level -but we'll get no-one who has been successful either. He's shown his mettle north of the border- but he's not 'another Jock wanker'
When Freedman gets his marching orders (possibly this Wednesday), I'll put a tenner on Terry

Our next manager isn't on that list. He will be a former Scottish striker who played for us.
