Been very busy workwise for the last few weeks and for the next month or so at least - so haven't had time to post as much as usual.

Even though we are quiet compared to are we have been, we are still by and far the bussiest of all the 'smaller' BWFC - Wanderers Ways and The Wanderer being the big two.

Most of the other sites are trying to drum up a bit of business by means of World Cup competitions or reviewing each others taste in music (why not simply go to a music forum?) during the 'off' season and one or two of our members have gone for various reasons - LuckyPeterPiper's not been around since his car crash really - hope he's recovering well, Copper's walked away since I had to ban him for the evening because he refused to pack in giving abuse to some of our regulars - and even dear old Banks of the Croal seems to have gone, I think because he didn't like some peoples views certain players.

Sad really, always a shame to see good posters leave for whatever reasons but we simply can't make it that everybody likes what goes on, on Nuts, all the time - I wish we could.

There's a general negativity amongst all fans on all sites about last season and the prospect of next, hence quieter forums everywhere but once the new season gets close, people tend to start getting more optimistic about things and sites start getting more active again.

We've been doing our best to keep the site busy with things like 'Brazil Nuts', the Portal, articles such as 'Thank you and Good bye!' and the World Cup Sweep, so all we need is for people to post a bit of banter and before we know it we'll soon be kicking off again at Norwich or Brentford or some other exortic location and the fun will start all over again!

Any new Le Carre is gonna be a treat. Must say that due to the amount of shite on tele now,I've rediscovered my passion for reading, and that's gotta be good. I'm spending far too much time online these days. I blame BN, it's addictive.

I'm just relieved he's still alive and capable of writing books.

I was only about 15 when I first read "The spy who came in from the cold", and back then, given it was set in the early 60's and was based on his own time in MI6, I thought he was a proper old man.

Hope he lives a bit longer. And keeps writing.

Read 'em all, seen the TV shows (and the repeats), bought the films and love his work.

I just love his quietly understated way of showing us that world.

He should get a knighthood in my opinion.

But then again, The Mandarins probably wouldn't allow it.

And Karla would smile........and play with "that" cigarette lighter........

I wander in now and then, but there isn't a lot going on, and I'm still winding down after the season. After the playoffs, etc, its time for an even quieter summer break.

I'm still here - I was out both Friday and Saturday, plus been ever so slightly busy over last couple or so weeks!
