An EXCELLENT day. Steve Kean must be spitting feathers after that performance and QPR have to play Man City and Chelsea away.

Wolves got a draw but it's no good to them. Come on you Gunners!

So it's still in our hands although we all know that our performances have to improve to claw back the necessary points. Rovers shipping 3 has put a smile on my face. It's going to be a rough ride from here on in though. Spurs game grows less critical as long as Rovers and QPR keep losing.

We beat Rovers and Wolves.

We beat Wolves Blackburn and QPR, 3 of the most important games of our season, even you said this before the games. But when we win them what do you say? just that Wigan have done better Rolling Eyes

btw, after todays results are your still certain that were down? or have you realised that being two points behind 16th with 18 points to win is actually not even close to 'already relegated'

They have good kids but it will take a bit longer for them to be feared. Villa has been using a number of U23 players and a number of players on the bench are about 19! If we can't beat Villa's kids we may as well go down. Reasonable expectation?

More of a pipe dream really, Villa have pace and we can't handle anyone faster than Chris Amos.

Cheek of it!!!

Well all in all quite a good afternoon for Bolton, although we didn't play.

Wolves could only manage a draw - but they are basically down and out anyway.

Blackburn lost 3-0 to the Swans

QPR lost 1-0 to West Brom

I honestly can see Wigan getting a good thrashing against the gooners on Monday evening

By the end of Monday we will be 3rd bottom, but with 2 games in hand!!! Our fate rests with our players. I hope that we do succeed in beating the drop.

We have games in hand, but I'd rather have 31 points and have played 34 games.

In a season when we have struggled for points why are you all so sure we'll start pulling them out of the bag?

I think QPR and Wigan are currently the best teams in the bottom 5.

United struggled to get into the game against QPR even when they had an extra man because of the level of passion in the QPR performance. I saw them play West Brom today and they were unlucky not to get something - West Brom just defended very well. And they were just great against Swansea.

Wigan v United was just all Wigan. Victor Moses is like lightening - he's a world beater in comparison to anything we've got. Even Conor Sammon who can't get into their first team looked livelier than any of our donkeys.

Both teams are playing with urgency. It's like they're aware of the job in hand and the time constraints and they're willing to get a fooking shift on to get points on the board before it's too late. There's none of that at Bolton. I'm dreading the Swansea game.

I always thought that QPR could not sustain the momentum after the false dawn against Liverpool. Look at the rest of their fixtures and at best I can't see them getting more than six points.

Wigan have Fulham away and Newcastle at home followed by two massive games against Blackburn ( A ) and Wolves ( H ). Those last two games are of great significance because it means two out of the bottom three cannot all pick up three points.

Likewise Blackburn have to travel to Spurs and Chelsea.

I tell thee, things are not as bad for us as they seem. Even a draw against Swansea and Villa will leapfrog us out of the bottom three.

Wigan look great right now, they dominated Man Utd from start to finish, I can see them picking up something at Arsenal as confidence will be high. They won't go down, having two easy games to finish with will help them as well.

QPR are a decent team but with games away at Spurs and City to come it's going to be tough for them.

The Swansea game is vital for us, win that and I think we'll stay up but if we manage to lose it the pressure will be massive to get something at Villa. But I trust Owen, he's doing a good job.

The league table shows that he is actually doing anything but a good job. I forgive him because injuries to Lee and Holden plus Mears and Ricketts early on, have blighted our season.

If he keeps us up then I will judge him on how we perform next season with a fully fit squad.

We've no money, £110 million in debt, underperforming players and injuries to key players. He's done better than expected.

I can see Wigan winning at least two of their remaining matches (Fulham/Newcastle/Blackburn/Wolves), and QPR will probably beat Stoke at home and might get a draw or win against Spurs. So as things stand I think we will need 3 wins to finish above Wigan and at the very least 2 wins to finish above QPR. Call me negative but honestly can't see us doing it.

The only part OC had any influence in this statement is with the 'underperforming players'. Its what he's paid for, and he hasn't managed it very well.

I think Blackburn have 4 points left in them...a win at home to Norwich and a draw at home to Wigan. That will put them on 34 points.
I think Wigan will get 5 more points...a win on the last day at home to Wolves, a draw at Blackburn and a draw against either Newcastle, Fulham or Arsenal, putting them on 36.
And I think QPR will get more 4 points...a draw at home to Spurs, and a win at home to Stoke, putting them on 35.

The only team I daren't make a prediction on is my own.
