I've never understood why people think he is some kind of a hero? -

FORMER Bolton Wanderers player El Hadji Diouf was arrested after a brawl at a nightclub.

A man was seriously injured in the attack, which happened at the Circle Club in Manchester in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Diouf was released on bail until May 23.

The victim, aged 33, suffered injuries to his head and neck.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was described as serious but stable.

Anton Ferdinand, brother of Manchester United star Rio, was interviewed by police yesterday.

Police are investigating if a bottle was used in the attack.

A police spokesman said: “Six men have been arrested and another man is helping police with their inquiries, which are ongoing.”

Footballers seem to be forgiven for anything by their own fans if they happen to be a good player. It's all part of the tribal mentality.

I think the Diouf is a bit of a pantomime villain. With regards to being arrested for being in a brawl, that only tells us that there was a physical altercation in a nightclub (possible upgraded to a "brawl" by the media) and Diouf was there. We don't know what caused it, what his involvement was or any of the other material facts, so it's be unfair to draw any conclusions from that.

You don't think anyone is good for us unless there is a general consensus that they are crap.

Diouf was useless. Loads of the ball and no end product. And cost us vital games with his antics.
