What did he contribute to the peace process?

if my memory serves, not a great deal! He was against even speaking to the Republican parties at all never mind having a meaningful dialogue or talks

He will be missed greatly?

He certainly did a great deal for the balaclava industry.

Always a shame when great Liverpool managers die. My thoughts are with Mark Lawrenson.

No doubt the "what a great man" tributes will come flooding in?

Noted thespian, Sir Donald Sinden also popped his clogs. Him and Paisley could re-enact Never the Twain.

Paisley shocked the world when the party he created (he also created his own church/religion!) won the elections in NI and he agreed to take over the peace negotiations and actually succeeded in forming a working relationship with Martin McGuinness.

So farewell then, Ian Paisley. You had a very loud voice and your name was an anagram of I Sip Any Ale.
