God knows how much those clowns Lee, Megson, Coyle and Freedman spent since Allardyce left but can you actually think of anyone they brought in (free or for a transfer fee) who actually were any good?
Ok Cahill yes... but - we cocked up big time on getting anything like is true worth when we sold him - for instance Jolean Lescott was sold for £22 million, we sold Cahill for £7 million after buying him for £5 million!!!
We didn't even make a clear £2 million on him because Villa had a selling on clause on him.
From what I recall all we made on him was spent on getting Tim Ream - makes you cry when you think of it that way.
Holden was good but only when he was fit. If you divide the games he's played into the money we've paid him in nearly 5 years, he must one of our worst ever value for money buys.
Mark Davies is in the same boat too.
Tim Ream was our player of the year last season but let's face it, we still don't know what his best position is yet - should he play in midfield perhaps - because he certainly isn't a left back and the only time he shone at centre back was alongside Zat Knight - even I could look good besides Knight(mare) - great buy Gary - thank you.
As for Elmander - I understand with fee and wages we spent over £15 million on him and did not get even a penny back on him - fantastic business Mr Gartside (hard to believe we are actually £165 million in debt - isn't it?)
Muamba - of course I felt sorry for him but he cost too much and we never were going to get anything like what we paid for him until the insurance paid up.
Spearing - why did we bother?
Baptise, Andrews, Sordell - so good we pay other clubs to play for them!
Pratley - a five year contrat - oh of course another Coyle mastersteoke.
Beckford - as lethal as being savaged by a sheep.
Even some of the players names should have given us a clue not to buy them such as £4 million David N'good from Liverpool and Sammy Lee master signing Daniel Baadun (We've already done the Knight(mare joke!).
Bogdan doesn't even play now (for fear people will remember all the games he's been shite in rather than those few he was good in) before we sell him in the January window (Lee signing if you are wondering why his name appears here).
Another Lee signing was McCann - we got more value for money from hearing the judges opinion on our glorious Chairman, than anything the 'badger' ever did on the pitch for us.
As for the youth from our much vaunted academy - as any of them ever broke through at the club this decade?
So come on then, who as been our best signing since Allardyce left to spend more time with his family (who must have lived up in Newcastle, quite close to St James Park!
Lets be having you then?
(See what I did there with our next match coming up)
You certainly get value for your money on this article - nore than the club as done on the players we've had dince Sam's time anyway!
