Hello and a very walm welcome mate.

Blackhand wrote:...to throw the cat among the pigeons! Im voting UKIP...

For what it is worth, if I were to vote I too would vote UKIP.

Yes I know all the arguments on both sides but where I live the sitting MP has a large enough majority to survive a large swing to the UKIP so my vote for them would really be a protest vote about my dissatisfaction with the other main partys.

What branch of the services are you in Blackhand? I have family serving in the Royal Airforce who applied for voluntary redundancy and was turned down (we think because of the amount it would cost due to his length of service).

To be honest I think that the role of modernday warfare as moved away (for political reasons) from boots on the ground (and British death tolls on the news everyday) to that of attacking from afar - drones and air-strikes.

Yes I know there is a need for armed forces to fight in more traditional ways - such as in the Ukraine - but the chances we will face such a war are slim to none (if the russians get to the channel then its game over no matter what are forces strength is).

It's more likely the armed forces will take on more of an internal security role - a bit like they did at the Olympics - if the Muslim extremism were to take root here - in my opinion.

God hope it dosen't.

Anyway as I said earlier, welcome, it's good to have you aboard with the rest of us here!

Im a Welder in the Army, i'm responsible for repairing all sorts of equipment from Armoured Vehicles to Land Rovers to BAR armour and fixing anything else made of metal that someone trashes, as well as making security Gates and what ever other crap that gets requested. Point is we play a valuable role in maintaining the Army's kit, yet as I said earlier because of the forced/voluntary redundancies we are now at around only 40% manning. The Government said that due to size of the Forces at the time, there would have to be cuts to fund better equipment, question is who is left to actually fix that equipment? Reality is I've never seen morale as low as it is now in my workplace, Ohh and i forgot to mention im also currently undergoing Ambulance Driver training so we can drive the Ambulances whilst all NHS Ambulance Drivers across the North West go on strike simultaneously in a few weeks time. I don't blame them though. I blame the Government - I've only recently returned from being posted to Germany and I just cannot believe the direction this country has gone in the last 5 years

UKIP will change this country for the better. They'll be celebrating the anniversary of Nigel's death in 75 years.

If you had to repair a downed Russian fighter jet, would that make you a MIG Welder?

(Obvious engineering / military gag - sorry.)

One question to UKIP fanatics about finances....

UKIP will say they will stop spending £20billion on EU each year!   It is actually only £14billion with £10 billion coming back to the UK thus net is only £4billion each year

UKIP will take the lowest paid out of income tax thus losing about £25billion each year
UKIP will give £3billion to the NHS each year
UKIP will lower the income tax of the top 5% of earners thus losing about £5billion each year

Just on those 3 policies alone UKIP will have a deficit of about £31billion each year

Question is, where is the money going to come from to cover the deficit each year, unless they increase the national debt, which in turn increases the interest payments we have to pay towards the national debt, and again where is that money going to come from?

You bellend! They will close the doors to immigrants and kick out all the illegals and freeloaders. Everyone will have a job, no benefits to pay out and a huge increase in taxes being paid by the workforce.

It's actually quite simple.

So you have forgotten about the policy of making 2 million public servants unemployed as they force ALL public bodies to be privatised including schools, bins, illegally making libraries a private body, and even the NHS (and lets not forget the average price for healthcare in the US - same system that Farage wants - is about £15,000/annum).

He cannot guarantee jobs for everyone as quite a few companies have already announced that they would leave the UK if UKIP got in, which would lead to further unemployment and associated jobs would then be lost and even more unemployment.

And already stated he would take lowest paid out of income tax and reduce income tax for the top 5% earners, therefore what you said about huge increases in taxes is complete nonsense!!

As for immigrants - lose their experience and lose their wealth (in which they have contributed more than £120billion over the last few years) and you can say goodbye to wealth.  Even Goldman Sachs (the richest bank in the world) will pull out of the UK, along with the top 5 other world banks..!

And then we lose trade with EU which will mean even more job losses because, US will only trade if we sign up to the TTIP which gives control to every ones workers rights to the US conglomerates.  If we do trade with EU we will have to pay and forego many rights which we currently have.  That then leaves the Commonwealth - Australia only trades with Japan and China with very little trade with us - because of shipping costs.  Canada only trade with other American countries in the main, again because of shipping costs, and that eaves South Africa and where is that exactly - not cheap to trade with and then that leaves the other Commonwealth countries which make a loss and have no money to trade with successfully!!!

And yet you are meant to be a business woman, and you cannot see the short-sightedness in the finances of UKIP, which would ultimately bankrupt the UK!  Again from a business point of view - who would you employ - a person who is right for the job, or a person who is British and not right for the job, but got the job because of their nationality?

Once again, you have not answered the question -  so I will repeat.  the money saved will NOT cover the amount of spending, therefore where is that money going to come from without destroying the country financially?

 - and lets not forget that Farage is one of those bankers that brought about the world recession - especially as he worked for the French bank - Natixis as a gambler (oops I mean commodity trader)

the way i look at it, there wont be a majority at the G.E. We need treaty changes and the Germans have made it quite clear to Dave that that won't be happening. UKIP will rock the boat, you can not deny thiS? Having lived in Germany for several years it is not the Utopia some people believe it to be, and they sure as hell can't afford to fill the funding gap in EU should the UK leave, not to mention economies on the brink such as Portugal and Greece following suit. A compromise will be met, were our continued membership of the EU is guaranteed, but we have far more control over borders. For this to happen I honestly feel UKIP must be in government, even if only power sharing for this to happen. Look at the tactics they are employing against EFDD at European parliament. They are fearing the rise in 'far right parties'. The Germans and French have had it all their own way for far too long, time for a new Face, for someone who has the balls to stand up against this ridiculous institution and start to retake some of the liberties and rights this country has given away.
