Careful What You Write, Gartside Is Watching

The Blackpool FC forum, Back Henry Street, has today been sued by Blackpool Football Club for alleged defamatory comments which were made at the end of last year.

David "Blackpool Sluffy" Ragozzino, a moderator on the forum, was given 21 days to respond to a claim for damages from the club. Six other individuals were also served papers for comments made about the owners of Blackpool FC.

Is this the future, football clubs suing their own fans for comments they don't like? Haven't fans been slagging off their club for decades without fear of legal action?

Do you agree with this action or should fans be able to say what they like? Will this legal action make you think twice about writing shite on here?

Fuck me....if Gartside wanted to sue anybody on here, he'd need to employ a crack team of forensic computer whizz kids from Quantico and a squad of crack investigators to trawl through all the smoke and mirrors to try and prove who was who.

If Bin Laden had pretended to be a Bolton fan and joined Nuts he'd still be alive and watching porn in his bedroom....

I'm presuming all the people being sued hid behind usernames, I'm surprised the club could get their personal details without a Court order.

I hope PG is watching. Maybe he'll learn something. Better still he may even tell us what the hell is going on re the finances and more importantly for the fans if/when we might have the funds to have another tilt at promotion.

It all depends what was said. In fairness to Blackpool fans I think they have every right to vent their spleen at the Blackpool owners.
