Forest 4-1 Bolton

Here we are a fixture with added spice, deluded Dougie v Lennons marauders, what will be the outcome?

It's a stage for Vela and Clough to get one over on that clown, and stick 2 fingers up at him, and say SEE we are good enough really.


I am going for 3-0 Lennons marauders.

Obviously if we win it will totally vindicate the vitriol shown towards Freedman and prove inconclusively that he alone was the cause of our problems as a club. If we win it will finally prove Lennon is the better manager.
However, if we lose there is no way on earth that Bolton fans will line up to acknowledge Freedman's failure was at least in part due to the condition of the club and the impatience with long term austerity to put it right. If Forest win, it won't prove that Freedman is the better manager.
So on the so-called "added spice" front it's a very stacked deck and there's absolutely nothing we can take from it.

As regards the football however, it's a story of two stuttering teams, Forest having faded away after a strong start and more recently losing their star striker for the rest of the season, but they have managed a mini-resurgence under Dougie. Our home draw with them was one of the better early season results but recently we've only managed to get 4 points from the last possible 15 on offer so Lennon needs to find the right formula again.

We are a different proposition under Lennon and will almost certainly be looking to attack so I think our fortunes will hang on our ability to convert chances. If Mills is back/the defence shapes up, we finally have the personnel to cause problems on the break so providing Lennon picks them we have an excellent chance of nicking it.

My feeling is it will be an unsatisfactory draw though, which may push us even further down the table with Millwall being at home to Fulham on Saturday and Reading at home to Wigan tonight.

Top class performance needed from our lads to give us a bit of breathing space.

We will get absolutely DICKED.

Dougie will want to win this one more than anything else, and coupled with our shambolic away form the game is only going one way.

I'm going 4-0 Forest, but an even bigger scoreline would not surprise me one bit.

They just about got a result against Blackpool who finished the game with 8 men so it's winnable although I think a draw is a likely outcome.

Got a bad feeling about this one.

i think both teams will sit back a bit as both the defences have been suspect recently, i would say a draw.

Doogie vs Neil is junk at the moment. Come back in a year when Neil has all his own players in...then we will see.  As for this one.....on paper they are better than us and we are away from home.
3-1 sounds about right with the state of our defense at the minute.

Ref watch: Boyeson in the middle

Carl Boyeson will take charge of Wanderers’ away clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The East Yorkshire-based official has overseen three Whites fixtures in the past, including this season’s opening game against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Mr Boyeson has officiated 23 games so far this season, handing out 58 yellow cards and three red.

Nigel Lugg and William Smallwodd will run the line, while Stuart Attwell is the fourth official.

Don't see why he wouldn't be. Going off that press conference seems Lennon will go a bit more defensive.

SETTING THE SCENE

Bolton Wanderers travel to the banks of the Trent River to face former manager Dougie Freedman and his Nottingham Forest side this weekend.

Neil Lennon will be hopeful his side can build on a positive but ultimately fruitless performance against promotion hopefuls Watford last time out, whilst there were also a glut of goals in Forest’s last outing, a 4-4 at Blackpool.

Freedman’s side are unbeaten during his three-game reign at the club, with Forest still no doubt harbouring hopes of a play-off push despite a somewhat rocky spell of late.

Bolton should be boosted by the return of Matt Mills (knee), Emile Heskey and Craig Davies (both hamstring), though Liam Trotter (thigh) remains a doubt.

With record signing Britt Assombalonga ruled out for the foreseeable future, midfielder Henri Lansbury has stepped up to the goalscoring plate.

Lansbury progressed through the youth ranks at Arsenal prior to joining Forest, and has netted five in his last five outings.

A creative midfielder with an eye for goal, the 24-year-old has also accumulated a total of ten yellow cards and four assists this term.

LAST TIME WE MET (Bolton 2-2 Nottingham Forest, 16 August 2014)

All the goals came in the first half in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Joe Mason put Bolton ahead after just four minutes, before Britt Assombalonga levelled.

David Wheater then fired Bolton back in front, only for Assombalonga to double his and Forest’s tally for the afternoon, converting from the penalty spot.
