Dougie Freedman says he holds no grudges after his exit from Wanderers and is pleased to see their fortunes turn around under Neil Lennon.

But the man now at the Nottingham Forest helm still wants to get one over his old employers at the City Ground tomorrow.

Like his counterpart, Freedman is resisting calls to focus too much on ‘the ex-factor’ and wants his team to concentrate on treating the Whites like any other opponents.

He is unbeaten in three games in charge since returning to the club he represented as a player and wants that run to continue against Wanderers.

The Scot said: “At the end of the day it is going to be three points.

“I am looking forward to seeing friends I made up there; to seeing some good people.

“I really enjoyed my time there. I met some fantastic people along the way.

“I am pleased to see them doing well right now, under Neil. I am pleased to see that we are doing well, as well.

“Make no mistake, it is three points and I have managed against and played against my former clubs before. This will be no different to those experiences.

“I am looking forward to the game, but it is another one we will try to win, just as with all the others.”

Freedman knows many of those in the Wanderers ranks but does not believe it will give him any advantage this weekend.

The team set-up has changed under Lennon with new faces and youngsters promoted to the side.

Freedman added: “I might have a little more insight, but that can also work against you.

“I feel that we need to concentrate on our game and make sure we do the things we do well. If we can do that, it is a winnable game.

“They have changed one or two players around.

“Zach Clough, a player we worked with at under-21 level, has come into the team. They do have different dimensions to their side.”
