Great quote from winning director, Alejandro Inarritu, when explaining that he had to shed fear in order to aim for something unique and creative: "Fear is the condom of life: it doesn't allow you to enjoy things...."

That applies equally to sport: fear stops England cricketers from expressing themselves and certainly applied to BW's squad under DF, whereas Lennon clearly welcomes an adventurous approach and it makes for so much more enjoyment and spontaneity.

There has been a lot of fear evident in our defending recently. That said, Birdman is a very good film. I tried to see as many of the nominated films as possible but had no interest in The Theory of Everything. Selma is moving and powerful. I got halfway along the list and have a few lined up to see now. American Sniper is hugely popular - one of those films designed to get viewers chanting "USA! USA!"

The Theory of Everything is just a love story, but very well acted, Keegan. I really liked The Imitation Game. KK is improving as an actress!
Boyhood was very dull, despite the inventive idea. A disgrace that Paddington wasn't nominated! pale

It's always saddened me that Sooty & Sweep never made the big screen.
This could soon be rectified. My mole tells me a screenplay is in the pipeline.
