Jermaine Beckford was on the scoresheet for Preston North End again on Tuesday night as the Lilywhites extending their recent unbeaten run to nine matches.
The forward poked home Paul Gallagher’s cross from close-range late on against Peterborough United before being replaced by Chris Humphrey as Preston clinched a 2-0 victory at Deepdale.
Since returning to full-fitness following an ear infection last month, Beckford has now scored four goals in five appearances, with his recent form helping second-placed North End continue their automatic promotion challenge.
Elsewhere in League One, Conor Wilkinson and Luke Woodland both started for Oldham Athletic as they lost 3-1 at home to MK Dons, while Sanmi Odelusi came on for the final 15 minutes as two late goals saw Coventry City wrap up a 2-0 victory away at Fleetwood Town.
In the Championship, Alex Baptiste completed 90 minutes while Jay Spearing came on for the final half-hour as Blackburn Rovers twice conceded the lead to suffer a late 3-2 against Brentford at Ewood Park.
Tom Eaves also completed 90 minutes for League Two side Bury as they won away at York City with former White Joe Riley crossing for Tom Soares to score the game’s only goal in the opening ten minutes.
Meanwhile, Andy Kellett completed 90 minutes Manchester United Under-21s on Monday night as they won 2-1 away at Everton.
