Really enjoying The James Brown Show on Soho Radio. You can fined them all on Mixcloud but get started here (while bickering on Nuts of course)...

This was the first version I heard of Dylan's "Percy's Song". From the album "Unhalfbricking" by Fairport Convention with the ever awesome Sandy Denny on
vocals.

And while we're at it there's this. which is just about one of the most beautiful songs ever by anyone. From the same album. Sandy wrote this herself.
Gorgeous.

Unhalfbricking is one of my Desert Island choices.
Every song is flawless and Sandy Denny's voice still moves me 35 years after I was first introduced to her talents by my old man and his record collection.
Especially "Who knows where the time goes" after my Mum died last year.
I blub like a baby every time.
Wonderful stuff.

Quality.
I still love The Fall because they got me through university with a smile on my face and they've had more line-up changes than Deep Purple, Sabbath and The Detroit Spinners combined.......

Although, Nesmith's version does have a certain appeal......
Still not as good as Ronstadt and The Ponies though.....
Even though he wrote it......

Sorry mate, I did 30 seconds then clicked onto about 45 but it just sounded the same.
So I did it again to about a minute but.....the same.
I had high hopes for 1 minute 20 but it turned out that it sounded like the first thirty seconds again.
At the point of exasperation I went to 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
And imagine my dismay when it still sounded exactly the same as the other bits!
Nothing new, no key change, no cowbells....nothing!
I must be getting old........

Student Ritzy's on a Tuesday night, Panthers on Friday and Hawthorns on Saturday, circa 1989 - never mind what you're doing, it's not important, drop your pint and rock the fuck out when you hear the opening drums on this one was the order of the day!
Saw them playing this live at Pirhanhas which was a club underneath Central TV's studios in Birmingham.

the Fall are still putting out good albums even now, i went to watch them a couple of years ago at the Factory in Manchester and halfway through the gig he decided to sit in a chair off stage and carry on singing (if you can call it that)
