you're right about Vini Reilly Hip Priest, he doesn't look well but i suppose he never really did look well did he?  Very Happy.

Never been a massive fan of the Durutti Column to be honest Breaders, his work seems to be very hit and miss,he even said as much in a very good book i read a while ago. It's called Shadowplayers and is the full story of Factory Records, it's a big read but well worth it.

It's one of my faves and just heard it on the radio so had to share.

Glad you like it. Smile

Had the good fortune to see Pearl Jam about five years ago. They did two nights at the Arena and played fifty songs in total over the two nights. Nothing unusual about that you might say. However of the fifty songs only four were played on both nights!!!

How's this for mad as fuck?

I never go on holidays like this.....

It's usually all "Local ethnic musicians banging drums and blowing recorders and shit" with their hands out for tips.

Not like this:

How weird (and BRILLIANT) was that Breaders. Couldn't take my eyes off it for the full 10 minutes. Totally surreal and strangely uplifting.

if you want to track down the original samples or breaks for loads of hip hop tunes then this album is for you 1874. I have it already and its a cracker!

When I first heard California Love by Mr Pac it bugged the hell out of me for ages because I couldn't remember what the original song was but I knew I knew it from way back.

Then I forgot about it.....

But when I was going through some of my Mum's old records after she died I found a copy of Woman to Woman by Joe Cocker from 1970 and went "That's it!"

Far more satisfying than just googling the answer.  Very Happy
