BB King and Percy Sledge both passed in such a short time. Legends.

Why he ever stooped to stand on the same stage with that pile of shite has always been a mystery to me. Raised their profile though.

The link between Soul and Rock. I discovered him way too late in my musical life, 15 years ago, but had the good fortune to see and enjoy him live. I have been thinking about him on and off all day. Most people won't realise how immense he really was. I doubt I could have listened to him 30 years ago, but so glad I finally did.
The Thrill Is Gone would be a Desert Island disc and a fine place to start, note perfect musically and vocally on the studio version.
