Wanderers say talks with out-of-contract midfielder Darren Pratley remain ongoing despite reports of a move to Championship rivals Ipswich Town.
The 30-year-old is one of two first-teamers offered a new deal by boss Neil Lennon, but both he and Adam Bogdan are yet to sign.
Bogdan was again linked with Liverpool this week and speculation yesterday suggested Mick McCarthy could be ready to pounce for Pratley.
There were even reports that the former Swansea man was due to undergo a medical at Portman Road.
But sources in Suffolk have told The Bolton News the Tractor Boys are not, at this targetting Pratley.
McCarthy is keen to add to his midfield options but finances could prove a stumbling block.
A Wanderers spokesman has confirmed Pratley's situation remains the same and that discussions are still ongoing, though sources close to the player recently suggested those talks have stalled.
Pratley has made more than 100 appearances since joining the Whites four years ago.
