Well, in the absence of any proper sport at the moment (the women beating Canadia to reach the World Cup Semi Finals doesn't count as it's still shit) and while we all wait for The Ashes to start, there's only really Wimbledon on my sporting radar at the moment.

But try as I might, I just can't get into it.

It's boring.

The action's boring.

The players are boring.

And the fans, from what I can tell purely from seeing them on the telly, are the most boring part of it.

They're all middle class Jeremies and Imogens who you can tell have (A) never got pissed or (B) eaten a kebab at half two in the morning in their sad (but privileged) lives.

And don't get me started on that twat Murray and his massive-headed mother......

Does anybody on here actually like tennis and if so, why?

I'm not bothered for tennis that's played on daft surfaces but I like a bit of Wimbledon.

Come on Andy.

I've always hated tennis. Wimbledon fortnight is hell on earth for me,but I somehow manage to get through unscathed.
They can't even score properly.
15 love. 30 love. Deuce. WTF.

Clay.

It mucks up the tennis whites.

So let's get this straight then........

I hate tennis because it's shit.

You, on the other hand, dislike it because the players' clothes get dirty.

I'd recommend that you don't ever watch Speedway, Rugby (either code) or National Hunt racing between October and February.

Tennis on mud is the future. Make it a contact sport.

I love tennis. Well, I keep an eye on the four big tournaments, and tend to watch a lot of Wimbledon.

I don't really like tennis people. You can just picture all them twats at Wimbledon supping Pimms in Fannies talking about their Villas in southern France. And then there's the players themselves. I can't stand how they all kiss arse in interviews, even though most of them quite clearly dislike one another.

But as a sport, tennis is as good as it gets for me.

Tennis at Wimbledon is as quintessentially British as Chicken Tika Massala. I love it. Incredibly difficult game to play and there is no time limit. I started following it in the seventies when Borg and Connors were around and I've followed it ever since.

Can you still play at Moss Bank?

Despite what I've written here, I spent hours there as a teenager because I actually used to quite enjoy playing the game.

That and the Pitch and Putt.

They gave Moss Bank tennis courts a big makeover last year.

They're actually in very good condition at the moment, but a fooking nightmare to queue for this time of year.

Well done to Heather Watson.

Her backhand is quite something. I probably shouldn't have been looking up her skirt but there you go.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

I don't really like tennis but Wimbledon is the only tournament I can watch, only when it gets to the latter stages though. It's a similar thing with Golf. I find it incredibly boring but then I quite enjoy the Ryder Cup.

Watched Wimbledon since I was a kid. Earliest Brit I remember watching was Jeremy Bates.

My earliest Brits who were any good were Buster Mottram and Mark Cox.

Strange bloke Mottram.
Expressed support for the National Front, but later formed a songwriting partneship with Brucie's chum Kenny Lynch.
He was expelled from UKIP for trying to broker a deal with the BNP.
Not the type of chap I'd invite round for tea. Probably reads Biggles.
