Alex Baptiste departs for Middlesbrough

Alex Baptiste has agreed to join fellow Sky Bet Championship outfit Middlesbrough on a permanent basis.

The 29-year old defender spent the entirety of the 2014/15 campaign out on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

He joined Bolton on a free transfer from Blackpool in the summer of 2013. In all he made a total of 43 appearance for Wanderers, scoring four goals.

Everyone at Bolton would like to thank Alex for his efforts during his time with the club and wish him well in his future endeavours.

I thought he was going to get a chance under Lennon after impressing on his loan at Blackburn.

he may have done KP but as soon as we got an offer i bet Lennon snatched their hands off as he was one of the last big wage earners

Ye I'd have liked to keep him, but not on those wages and given his age I think we've done well here. Osede certainly looks like more a centre back than Baptiste.
