Neil Lennon has been encouraged by what he seen from recent recruit Derik Osede’s first performances in a Bolton Wanderers shirt.
The ex-Real Madrid man put pen to paper on a deal with Bolton earlier this month and joined his new team-mates on the pre-season training camp in Austria.
During the training camp Derik played in both friendly games against Sturm Graz and Paderborn and the manager added he was now looking forward to seeing the defender tested on English shores.
“The games in Austria were more of a European-style game, so that probably suited him a bit,” Lennon told bwfc.co.uk.
“It’ll be interesting to see how he adapts to the pre-season games we’ve got back in England. He’ll come up against a more physical approach.
“He looks a little bit slender, but he’s very strong and athletically very good. He’s also comfortable on the ball and very quick across the ground.
“I thought he did well against Graz and Paderborn, and read the game very well. The signs are very encouraging.”
