A run-down of the key things you need to know about Wanderers' new recruit, Lawrie Wilson

1) Lawrie Robert Wilson was born in Collier Row on September 11, 1987.

2) Equally capable of playing on either flank in both defence and midfield, the 27-year old started his career with stints at Charlton Athletic and Colchester United but left both without making a senior appearance for either club.

3) Making his professional debut during a loan stint with Conference South side Welling United, it proved to be both a day to remember and forget for Wilson as he was sent off for violent conduct against Cambridge City inside the opening half-hour.

4) Signing for Stevenage in 2007, the defender won the FA Trophy with the club in 2009 as they beat York City 2-0 at Wembley.

5) In August 2009 he was called up to play for the England C team, but was forced to pull out of the squad after dislocating his ankle and breaking his leg in three places in a game just three days later.

6) Returning from injury earlier than expected in March 2010, Wilson helped Stevenage win promotion to the Football League for the first time in the club’s history as Conference champions that season.

7) He also was a member of the Stevenage side that secured back-to-back promotions the following year, completing 90 minutes at Old Trafford as the club beat Torquay United 1-0 in the League Two Play-Off Final.

8 ) An ever-present for Stevenage in their first ever season in League One, Wilson played in all 56 matches as the club reached the League One play-off semi-finals, only to lose to Sheffield United.

9) Returning to Charlton in 2012, he would feature regularly for the majority of his three season with the Addicks – making 108 appearances and scoring six goals.

10) Scoring twice in his first appearance of last season against former club Colchester United, Wilson finished the campaign on loan with Rotherham United.
