Rob Hall came off the bench as MK Dons beat Cardiff City to set up a Capital One Cup third round clash with Premier League Southampton.
The midfielder entered the field in place of Cristian Benavente shortly after the hour-mark, with Karl Robinson’s side a goal behind thanks to Anthony Revell’s second-half strike for the Bluebirds.
And Hall made an immediate impact to force extra-time as he saw his initial strike saved by Simon Moore, allowing Carl Baker to smash home the rebound in the 78th minute.
Debutant Josh Murphy then struck shortly after the break in extra-time to secure Dons’ place in the third round.
