Every documentary I've seen is controlled and the journalists also have government escorts which is off-putting. Always like to get off the beaten track to "see how people really live" when I travel but unfortunately that's not possible in N Korea. Plus nobody would be prepared to talk about anything. A real shame as the country has an amazing history, I like Korean food and the subserviant culture is a fascinating contrast with the UK.Reebok Trotter wrote:Strangely enough...you can actually go on a package tour to North Korea and they actually have a 5 star hotel in Pyongyang. Most of the excursions are monitored and are accompanied by Government security staff. I bet there aren't many tourists from the UK who have made the trip but I would imagine it would be quite interesting.

Have they got any pubs in North Korea?
We could all have our Nuts meet up there, how mad would that be?
