Tyrell Palmer fired home a brace as ten-man Bolton Wanderers bounced back from their midweek defeat against Coventry City to win away at Hull City on Saturday.

Having seen Will Jaaskelainen deny Hull an early lead on two occasions, the Whites took the lead on the half-hour mark as Palmer stroked home having seen his initial strike from Jack Everest's cross blocked.

In a dominant second half display, Palmer doubled Bolton's lead as he calmly slotted beneath the Hull goalkeeper having found himself one-on-one after racing onto a long ball forward.

However, the Trotters were given a nervy finish after Palmer was dismissed on 70 minutes, with the hosts going on to halve the deficit in stoppage-time.

But despite conceding late on, Wanderers saw the game out to clinch their fourth victory from their last five games.

After the game, Under-18s coach David Lee told bwfc.co.uk; "Despite taking part in their third match in the space of a week, the players showed great determination and character to win, especially after playing 20 minutes with ten men.

"It was pleasing to see us dominate in the second half, having several periods off good play which resulted in the players creating a number of chances and having several shots on target.

"Overall it was a great learning curve again, playing against physically dominant opponents which is something the players have been doing well to adjust to."
