Jamie Thomas was on the scoresheet for Wales Under-19s on Tuesday, but it was not enough to prevent them from being knocked out of the UEFA European Under-19 Championships.
Facing off against Albania in their final qualifier, needing victory to guarantee their place in the elite qualifying round, Wales started poorly as Federico Zenuni fired Albania in front after just ten minutes.
Thomas, who completed the full 90 minutes, equalised for Wales soon after the half-hour mark, but Zenuni's netted his second of the game to restore Albania's lead before Ardian Krasniqi made it 3-1 heading in at the break.
George Thomas halved the deficit moments after the restart but Wales' chances of a comeback were diminished when Rhys Abbruzzese was sent off late on, as defeat saw the young Dragons finish bottom of group 8.
