I only do take away or greasy spoon.

It's no secret what I think of my local chippy. I would happily travel many miles to find another one rather than walk the very short distance to this one. Anyway, yesterday, the sister in law rocks up at our house with chips and gravy she's just bought from there on the way round. I tried one of these chips and I was shocked and amazed to find they were actually quite nice. 

This can't be right, I thought, and not wanting to miss out on the one day of the year when this guy makes decent chips, I went and got some of my own, and sure enough, credit where it's due, they were top notch. They were all cooked through, they tasted good and I didn't have the screaming shits for the night. 

I'm going to try them again one day soon to make sure it's not one in a million, and then I might have to reevaluate my thoughts on the place.

I told him what you'd been saying about him on here and showed him your comments on my phone.

After he'd calmed down and stopped demanding I tell him where this "fucking 1958 cockwomble!" lived, he promised to up his game and sort his chips out.

Deep fried Mopane worms with peri peri sauce today. Yum.

Peppered steak pasty, oven fries, beans and garlic baguette.

Lidl finest strawberry trifle for desert.

1 hollands pie

corned beef hash with pickled red cabbage

2 Butter pies from

Spaghetti carbonara tonight for me with some garlic bread.

Chilli con carne again for me.
