It was above average too. Fresh Direct salmon, Trader Joe's taters, no other veg though...?... bit weird but apparently she 'just forgot'. At least she's honest.

Mrs. McD makes them occasionally but... meh. Remember my mate the Wendies fan? He makes cracking Yorkshires.

Did I ever tell you who his Dad is?

If it's Don Megson you have to kill him.
Long standing friendship or no, he must die.
And painfully with pointy sticks and shit.

No. No. No. Jesus. I have no Megson related friends. Howard Wilkinson is his Dad. I went to his wedding a couple of years ago and met the big man sporting a big white fedora. Top bloke.

The best manager England never had.
Seriously.
We're the same age and you remember how good he was back then so you know I'm not taking the piss.

To be fair, to which the Wendie always replies, 'has your Dad ever managed England?'

"Ha ha! Remember that time your Dad was mowing the lawn and he fell over and the lawnmower went through the fence?"
"Yeah, I do. But your Dad sanctioned a move away for one of the most naturally gifted footballers who ever played the game in this country to your biggest rivals and they then won the league and your Dad's team nearly got relegated. Remember that?"
Walks away and stares at broken fence.

He never managed us properly.
He was just put in charge after Hoddle went mad and offended the disabled voters.
Throw that one at your mate - your Dad only got the (Temp) gig after the other fella insulted a minority group.
And no, it wasn't the Mexicans - it was actual disabled people with a real gripe.
Ha!

Jesus. I forgot about that. What on earth was Hoddle thinking?

God told him to say it apparently.
Well, God or Eileen - one of the two.
Right, bedtime for me - we're on proper English time over here and it's late.
Big day tomorrow, got a meeting with some Scousers whose factory isn't performing as well as they think it should.
My first thought is naturally "Well, stop employing lazy Liverpudlians and Polish types who don't give a fuck because they're on Minimum Wage" but I'm not going to say that because that doesn't get you the gig.
I'm going to play it cool and pretend that they need me to make it all better.
Take it easy, Mr McD.
Speak soon.
