We would just be a very minor distraction at the end of one of the very long arms of his empire, but we'd be another asset on paper for him.

We're a necessary part of his plan to raise his UK profile, nothing more.

English football is a global brand and he's obviously weighed up the cost / risk ratio and decided that it's worth a punt because of the global exposure that comes with being a Premier League football club.

And he's probably a bit "Venky" in his understanding of where we currently are and our chances of getting back into the Prem in the future.....

We need to exploit that fact before he realises that Gary Madine isn't a footballer.

Tamraz studied in England when he was younger and has spent a lot of time in America and France so probably knows more about "Soccer" than the Venkys did. He has Casino and Hotel interests in France, the kind if assets that could easily be developed alongside the football club if somebody had the will to go that way. Hopefully he is well aware Madine isn't a footballer and will buy some real ones.

Thanks for the insight, CC.

What's your view on Sports Shield?

Genuine contenders or simply a stalking horse, manipulated by ED to garner serious interest from elsewhere?

Bolton. There's a football agent involved in Holdsworth takeover team. Been part of previous moves for clubs too. Interesting. NIXON

I have to agree with the quizzical comments regarding Tamaraz' interest. If he wanted to use a club to boost his business profile - why Bolton? Villa and Wolves are up for sale and I'm sure Cellino would be open to offers for Leeds. Surely these (and others) would provide a better platform? No doubt his interest is genuine, but I'm not convinced of his motivation. Seems very odd.

Said agent also is involved in a company that lends money to clubs.

On our local news a few minutes ago, Bristol Rovers has been bought by an Arab billionaire. He's also a member of FIFA it seems. Negotiations have been going on , in secret, for months.

That's the way to do ED !

Now saying Davies has reached a deal with 1 of the groups. Reading between the lines it appears to be no one has a clue what the hell is going on.

So the earth shattering announcement said to be today, Friday, is now again on the back burner. Go to court on Monday and all the delays, uncertainty and not a little contempt will ensure no sympathy from the judge who will liquidate us with the bang of the gavel.. ED has his wish, millions in his pocket and has the trustworthiness of those from Farnworth. Oh, well, could be worse. It could be snowing.

Yes, I'd trust you over Sky Sports.

Your track record of ITK is astounding.

I don't think anybody really woke up today and thought, "I can't believe it, this big day has finally come".

It was always gonna go on and on. It will probably all get wrapped up when we're not expecting it. Even then it won't be clear for a long time where it leaves the club in the long term. Even if there is some billionaire behind it, there's no saying they won't have short arms and long pockets. They might even sort the club right out financially, then systematically destroy it beyond recognition.

I have to say I wouldn't trust Dean Holdsworth as far as I could throw him, not merely because of what we've heard of the fella he's supposedly got connections with, but we'll have to wait and see.

The only assumption we can possibly make is that ED will pay the tax bill on Monday and then he has the time to select his choice of bids.  If he fails to pay the tax bill, the court could wind us up and that's in no one's favor.  So the assumption is the tax bill will be satisfied and then the club is in play again.  But more importantly, let's get 3 points tomorrow... no if's, and's, or but's!

This is turning into a farce worthy of Ben Travers. Someone is having their trousers pulled down.

But who?

Remember PG always said deal had to be with someone who lived in Bolton. Not too many Arab billionaires living round here
