So you're arguing we go for someone unproven?

What about David Walliams?

Sunbed has done a good job at Southend so why would he not be a good choice? Who do we think we are going to get when we have no money to spend and are stuck in league 1?

Once again ..... you can jump up & down, scream & shout, play mind games on the training ground....but you will never be able to get Pratts, Dorian etc. to pass a ball ten feet consistently to a white shirt. The talent is just not there.  Sir Alex could do nothing more than Lennon with this group IMO. Bringing in Phil Brown is not the answer...unless we are resigned to League One football and Lennon quitting on us.

I disagree TA, which is something i dont often do with your posts. But all the players have shown fleetingly that they are capable of doing a better job. The job that needs adressing is finding the right person to get them to do this consistently.

I agree with Johnny, there's enough quality in the squad to stay up Lennon isn't getting near enough out of them. You don't need bags of quality in this division you just need to be organised and work hard you only have to look at some of the other squads around us.

Wierdly, to some extent, I agree with Lennon inasmuch that they have played reasonably well for long periods in some games but have still managed to throw points away through stupid errors and poor "game management" whatever that's supposed to mean.

I'm not quite sure how a manager, new or otherwise, can help players improve concentration and discipline which is where the problem appears to lie a lot of the time - I'd have thought that is more of a shrink's job?

Struggle to understand some of Lennon's decisions, but I'm sure he was as gobsmacked as we were at the gaffes and blunders that have played a key role in putting us in the poo.

And we know for a fact that Phil Brown can motivate them with 12 games left to go?  Nobody knows the answer to that.  The number one reason we are at the bottom is the lack of a striker brought in at the beginning of the season. I said at the time that will come back to haunt us.  Imagine if we had just 6 or 7 more goals in certain games right now. We would be in the bottom half but not relegated. And more attractive to buyers also.

I find myself agreeing with lusty. I think Lennon is a good manager but even if he were not then I doubt it makes a whole lot of difference. No manager can legislate for the sort of individual errors and stupidity we've seen on the pitch far too often this season. It doesn't seem to matter who he picks either, it's an almost systemic problem that has affected virtually every player in the squad at one time or another. Personally I believe a lot of it has been down to the uncertainty surrounding the off field issues and also down to certain players simply not being as good as they appear on paper.

Neil's been given the worst hand in our history and had both his tied behind his back long before our financial problems became public knowledge. I find the fact he's stuck at it and continues to do so admirable and hope that this Phil Brown story is nonsense because I believe we have the best man for the job of reconstructing BWFC already.

Whoever takes over, be it Sports Shield, Tamraz or someone we just haven't heard about yet the job of making us a competitive football club again is going to take years. Chucking money at the problem won't be enough to solve it alone. There needs to be a complete change in philosophy and in structure from the boardroom down and certain key people are going to have to be kept AND given the resources they need in order to do the job as it's described in their contracts. There is no way anyone can say Neil has really been given that opportunity, look at the fiasco surrounding that lad who wound up at Wolves even though Neil believed he'd been given the go ahead to sign him.

Add in that right now we aren't even allowed to sign a player who offered his services for nothing. How can a manager be expected to make the necessary changes when he can't even employ a man who is willing to work for free?

I honestly believe that the entire saga has been mis-handled at boardroom level from start to finish and I fear Dean Holdsworth's SSI are not going to be the solution. They may be a short term 'fix' in that we avoid administration or liquidation but I can't claim to be fully confident of even that much. I think there are many, many more worrying and dark days ahead for this club before we really see any light. I wish it weren't so.

He never played for the club, so that won't fly with Bolton fans.

we need someone who "knows" the club. I.E were employed briefly about 10-25 years ago.

nope, we definitely don't know that, whatever direction we go AFTER lennon it will be trial and error but we have to give ourselves a fighting chance by ditching him imo

No, never.

A quick scroll of facebook or twitter will prove what I say to be correct though.

There is absolutely no evidence that Lennon is a good manager. It really is that simple.

While I'd give him until the end of the season, he wouldn't be my man to get us out of League 1.

Forgot I posted that, no wonder Sluffy's accusing me of being a WUM every 5 minutes.
