Liam Feeney is confident that Wanderers can turn their recent strong performances into results during the final weeks of the season.

Stephen Dobbie’s stoppage-time penalty saw the Whites recover from 2-0 down to claim a share of the spoils after a dominant display against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.

And although disappointed at not being able to clinch all three points against the Tractor Boys, Feeney still believes Bolton are capable of finishing the season strongly.

“Looking at the situation going into the last few minutes of the game it’s definitely a point gained,” the winger told bwfc.co.uk after the match.“But if you looked at the game as a whole then it is arguably two points dropped.

“It’s very frustrating. We’re all trying our hardest out on the pitch and we’ve got to keep believing that things will change for us and that we will start getting the results that our performances deserve.

“I thought we played really well tonight, as we have done in the last few home games against some top sides.

“We were unlucky. A couple of goalmouth scrambles didn’t fall for us while they’ve scored a world class goal. There was nothing we could do about that.

“But we showed great character to come back, even if it was in the dying minutes. It’s something we’re going to need for the remaining weeks of the season.”

Feeney continued: “We’re very strong at home and have come back a few times this season. We’ve got great belief and we do work hard for each other.

“We’ve got the belief that with the fans behind us that we can come back even if we do fall behind.

“We do need to start going a goal up more often, but if we keep performing how we are, then that will happen sooner rather than later.

“We’re confident that we can get out of this situation. There’s more than enough games to go. If we have a good week or two, then we’re right back in the mix.

“All we can focus on is ourselves and put a little bit of pressure on the teams above us.

“We’ve got a big derby now on Saturday. If we can build on our last couple of home performances, then hopefully we can put in a good performance and get a good result.”
