The University of Bolton's name will appear on the new Bolton Wanderers kit.
The university has been announced as the football club’s “proud” new sponsor.
This is the third time the university has had its brand emblazoned on the club shirt.
A university spokesman said: “The university’s name will appear proudly on the club’s latest shirt in a spirit of collaboration with the new chairman. The university wishes the club every success under the new arrangements. The university will continue to assist the club in any way feasible.”
The university’s logo first appeared on the shirt in 2013 when Wanderers scrapped their controversial deal with payday lender QuickQuid and turned to the firm FibrLec.
The sponsorship deal is in association with Keating Supercars, based in Astley.
Dr Tony Keating, of Keating Supercars, jointly runs FibrLec.
The sponsorship deal is said to benefit students, who will be provided with opportunities at the football club.
The spokesman said: “The University of Bolton continues to work with BWFC, notwithstanding its recent difficult times, and is proud of the club and town.
“The university regards itself as central to the community of Bolton and therefore shares a lot in common with the football club. The university’s spin-out company FibrLec was principal spon - sor of BWFC for two seasons — 2013-14 and 2014-15.
“The university is delighted, thanks to the ongoing generosity of Keating Supercars, to be able to show in such a visible way our ongoing commitment to the club in its new era.”
