Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Dougie Freedman after 13 months in charge at the City Ground.
Forest have lost five of their last six games in the Championship and lie in 14th place after Saturday's 3-0 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.
Former Forest striker Freedman replaced Stuart Pearce in February 2015 and won 19 of his 57 games as boss.
The club said first-team coach Paul Williams will take over as manager until the end of the season.
More to follow.

What price a Megson / Freedman dream team at the Macron next term, a la McFarland / Todd?

Forest is almost as big a basket case as we are, I am not surprised he's got the sack because in this division anyone can get the bullet at anytime but IMO he has done a reasonable job there considering the restraints, embargoes, having to sell their best players etc.

Freedman must either be a bit thick or he's a mercenary bastard who doesn't give a shit and knows he doesn't need to try because it doesn't matter how shit he turns out to be, he's getting a big fat wedge when the inevitable happens.
If you were genuinely pulling your tripe out in a job (let's say managing Bolton Wanderers for example) and the Chairman said:
"Right, that's it! The wage bill's far too high and we need to ship out the shit and replace them with cheaper options" and said "cheaper options" turned out to be a bit crap and you wound up doing an interview with the local rag after you'd shipped four goals against and equally poor team (let's call them "Fulham" for argument's sake) in which you said:
"It's not me, it's this shower of wank!" and you then got sacked......
.......would you then take on the Forest job with all that entails?
Embargo, FFP restrictions, obvious need to cut cost and mould average players into a fighting unit, etc...
No, would you bollocks!
Unless you simply saw it as an easy pay day where you had a ready made list of excuses for why it all went tits up.
The man's an arse.

The feeling on the Forest boards seems to be mixed.
Some are happy with it. Some think it's yet another rash decision by their owner who is already seen as a complete lunatic. They are in a bit of a mess after all.
Either way I don't think he's been a ray of sunshine for them in any way.

I am gutted for the poor misunderstood multimillionaire being forced to take a payoff.
Wonder who he and Lennie will be saving next? QPR are rich and daft....

Didn't rate Freedman, but his win ratio at Forest is 33%, which ultimately cost him his job, anybody care to tell us Lennons win ratio at Bolton?

Did a good job in very difficult circumstances, how many games did he have Assombalonga fit for? Forced to sell Antonio and Lansbury becoming disinterested since their off field problems began.
But his football is boring and he's poor with the press, makes it very hard to win fans over.
