Conor Wilkinson started for Republic of Ireland Under-21s as they lost their latest 2017 UEFA European Championships qualifier away at Slovenia on Easter Monday.
Despite a bright start, the Boys in Green fell behind to Luka Krajnc's 14th minute strike, before Wilkinson had to come off shortly before the break.
Gregor Bajde doubled Slovenia's lead from the penalty spot in the 55th minute, and although Callum O'Dowda pulled one back, Miha Zajc's sealed a 3-1 win for the hosts minutes later.
The defeat leaves Ireland sitting in fourth place in Group 2, six points behind second-placed Slovenia and a potential play-off spot with three games left to play.
