Wanderers face a right Royals striker dilemma as they prepare to face Reading this afternoon.

With Gary Madine and Emile Heskey struggling to shake off injury problems, Jimmy Phillips is lacking a physical presence in his attack.

Kaiyne Woolery and Zach Clough are the only other recognised front men in the first-team squad – which could mean an opportunity for one of the development side to step up.

Teenager Alex Samizadeh has been scoring for fun in the under-18s and could be an option after training with the first team yesterday.

Statistics indicate there will be goals regardless this afternoon, with Reading having gone 14 games without a clean sheet away from home. Wanderers have conceded in each of their last 14, which is the worst record in the Championship.

Oliver Norwood, Reading’s Northern Ireland midfielder, is taking nothing for granted.

“We've got to go there with every confidence we can win the game,” he said. “But it's going to be difficult. They are fighting for their lives and it's well documented the problems they have had so we have to go there and take advantage of that

"I'm sure everybody's raring to go again after the international break."

Nothing. Might as well try it.
