The feel good factor may just be coming back.
Apparantly a low compensation price was agreed

Yeah I thought he was a good fit at the time, and got proved wrong, hence my hope I'm wrong comment.doffcocker wrote:MartinBWFC wrote:Has a touch of the Freedman about this appointment, hope I'm wrong.
The Freedman you once described as our best manager since Big Sam?
Sounds encouraging to me.

You could start a line in Busman's Holidays especially for Scott and his (very) extended family, Mart.

Careful Bread. I was cursed by a gypsy once, because I refused to buy some pegs at the door.
Luckily, nothing seems to have come to pass.

Is he still pretending to be a Traveller, by the way?
He's not mentioned it for a while and it's at least two years since he PM'd me to complain about my use of the word "Pikey".
I suspect that the "diet pills" he bought off some fat meathead at the gym may have finally taken their toll and finally done for his mental faculties.
RIP Top Dog.

Yeah, because Egypt all inclusive is really expensive isn't it
Keep dreaming if you think you've more money than me, Mr travel rep.

Am I really hypercritical?
I know I moan a bit but I didn't realise it was that bad.
I'll try to be more positive from now on.
Cheers Scott.

I think Phil Parkinson is a solid appointment given his record at this level. I'm not expecting him to set the world alight but I think he will turn us around albeit a little more slowly than some might like.
However I do feel he will only be able to do that if Ken and Dean keep their promise and get the embargo lifted quickly. If that isn't dealt with he's going to be in the same bind Neil was in during his last few months in charge and with even fewer players.
Still, just for once I'm feeling optimistic about the coming season. I think we might finally have seen the worst and from here on in things will start to improve.
