I've just done something around the CTRL / SHIFT / Windows button on my keyboard and suddenly my laptop's telling me I've gone incognito.

I didn't mean to do it, in fact I've no idea how I did it. It was an accident brought on by my feeling a bit rough after a heavy night and my fat fingers not working properly.

I don't like that because it's got seedy connotations.

But I can't find out how to reverse it.

I don't want Mrs B going on the laptop and thinking I'm a Merv, so can anybody help?

There are some right dodgy bastards on this site so one of you must know all about hiding your browsing history and that type of stuff.

Cheers.

Chrome.

I've tried that but all it's telling me about is how to open even more secret browsing windows.

Remember the TV advert about using incognito because you might be shopping for a gift for your loved one and might want to keep it secret.
Yes that's why most internet users would want their history deleting
lol!

That type of diversionary tactic was used to catch drunk drivers on Christmas, there was a big sign on the main road warning of random testing and the police were on the back street pulling everyone who had pulled off the main road.
Sneaky

You could have just Googled it. I think you need some fresh air.

Why go looking for a solution from a bunch of strangers when I can draw on the collective knowledge of my fellow Nutters?

If you want your car fixing, you go to a garage.

If your boiler packs up, you call a boiler-repair expert.

If you want to know about dodgy internet browsing, you ask Norpig and Bonce.

Obvious.

Apparently your computer is registered on a long list known as 'the wrong uns' if you ever enter incognito mode as it suggests you have something to hide.

No action is taken but once you do enter that mode your browsing is forever monitored by the government. In incognito mode

That's what I feared.

Cheers for the heads-up, Boggers.

Should I smash my laptop up and move house?
