OSCAR Threlkeld will return to Plymouth Argyle next season after agreeing a deal with manager Derek Adams following his release from childhood club Bolton Wanderers.
The versatile 22-year-old, who has played at right-back and defensive midfield for the Pilgrims in the past, will join permanently, though the length of his deal has not been announced.
Threlkeld made 28 appearances under Adams last season before returning to Bolton for assessment before his future was determined in the North West.
According to match reports on Threlkeld's finish to the season, he impressed, but not enough to earn a new deal with his boyhood club.
Threlkeld scored one goal last season, but it was memorable effort against Argyle's bitter Devon rivals Exeter City in the league on November 21.
With Threlkeld and McHugh on board, that would make a playing squad of 19 thus far.
