Those that have followed my work over the years will know I am unlucky in love. Partners have kidnapped me, burned my fanny off, and pretended to be professional footballers.

I am a true romantic who had always believed I would meet my soulmate, but after years of dating dickheads I'm beginning to think my Mr Right isn't out there.

So is it time to follow in the footsteps of Mrs Breadman, Mrs Bonce, Mrs Johnny and Mrs KP and settle? Accept I'm not going to meet someone like me - hot and intelligent - and settle for second best. Someone not too ugly and mildly intelligent. Someone is better than no one...right?

Is anyone on here brave enough to admit they "settled" just to have somebody to keep them warm at night, rather than wait forever for Mr or Mrs Right to show up? Or perhaps you know your partner "settled" when they married you, if so how does that make you feel?

Has anyone ditched or missed out on someone because they thought they could do better, only to regret that decision later in life?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tbf you are getting to that age now where you should be settling down.

I'm still young and incredibly good looking.

Of course I should be settling down, that's the fooking point of the thread.

The question is should I settle for second best rather than wait for Mr Right?

Would I be happier starting a family with an "ok guy" in my 30s or waiting another 10 years in the hope Mr Right lands on my doorstep.

I won't be able to bear a child forever you know.

I was just having a pop at your age rather than offering any form of advice tbh.

But anyway, you should definitely not settle, you'll be unhappy for the rest of your years and end up having an affair with a toyboy.

I'd like to rule myself out of that right now.

You need an older man. A man who can bring you to heel, and show you how good life can be.

My mate Mike, for instance. He's 72,but very sprightly, although he can only perform in the bedroom with the aid of a bamboo stick. He's got a good heart though.
Added to which,he has his own milk round.

I can put you in touch.

Who've you got your eye on, Nat?

Or who is second best after me?

Sounds ok, but he'll likely be dead by the time I'm 50. Unless he's filthy rich I'm not interested.

He's not filthy rich, but he runs a used cow business on the side. You'd get it if he conked out.

We're getting off topic (thanks Bonce), this is serious you know.

Surely someone has settled, most married people seem unhappy.

I don't know why I bother trying a serious topic. Absolute twats the lot of you.

I'd have got a better response on Bolton Banter.

Why don't you get on Match dot com?

There's no point in sitting there for me right, I would be stood on the town hall steps with a placard!

I found Cedric on Plenty of Fish. I've tried (and failed) on-line dating.
