......don't do it.

Just spent 4 hours in A&E waiting to have my foot stitched up because I didn't wear the correct PPE for the job when trying to fix our tumble dryer.

If I was at work, I'd give myself a warning for this.

I took the back off and placed it on the floor, well out of the way (or so I thought...) and continued inspecting the internal gubbins.

I stepped back to get a better overall perspective and felt a slight pain in my foot in that "didn't really register" kind of way and cracked on.

30 seconds later my foot felt wet so I looked down.

And saw the blood everywhere....

I'll try and post a pic in a bit.

Anybody want to buy a used tumble dryer (in kit form)......?

All it needs is a new drive belt and the blood wiping off it.

And a pair of men's size 10 Adidas Dragon trainers.

(Predominantly dark blue but the right one's got a bit of a red tinge to it now.)

All reasonable offers considered.

I'm not allowed, Mrs B said so.

My manhood is now in question.

I can be in Walkden in half an hour, with a screwdriver and a 'DIY for Idiots' book I bought at the local Heart Foundation charity shop.
I'm no beginner. I recently fitted a gas fire for the old chap next door. Nice chap.
He's staying with us until they get his roof back on.

I'm surprised she let you tinker with it in the first place after your radiator mishap. Very Happy

If "daft, weekend-ruining bastard" is a term of endearment, then yeah, she's being very nice to me.

I usually find DIY gone wrong a mere inconvenience, I have only once had to endure the shame of sitting in A&E on a sunday with the other unfortunate souls who had suffered trying to work out who had the worst injury and what the cause of the mishap may have been.
