Mark Beevers praises Wanderers’ team chemistry Mark-beevers-4x3201-3262770_613x460

Mark Beevers is delighted with Wanderers’ start to the 2016/17 Sky Bet League One season, having hit the ground running since making the move to Macron Stadium.

A summer signing from Millwall, the defender has been an ever-present for Phil Parkinson’s side so far as they beat Fleetwood Town to clinch a fourth successive victory on Saturday.

Maintaining their lead at the top of the table, Beevers cited relationships in the Bolton squad as a key contributor behind their positive start to the campaign.

“We couldn’t have wished for a better start, winning four out of four,” he told bwfc.co.uk after the final whistle. “It was a tough game for us and a real test for us going 1-0 down at home.

“It was new to us, at home, and we had to dig in at times. But despite falling behind, there was still belief in the team that we could get an equaliser and kick on from there.”

“There is an understanding throughout the team as well which you can see out there on the pitch.

“I’ve settled in really well and the lads have been fantastic. I’ve formed a decent partnership with David Wheater so far. There is an understanding there out on the pitch.

“There are other players like Jay Spearing in front of us who has done really well. Mark Howard behind and the full-backs as well - we’ve all got to have a good understanding from back to front.”

Beevers continued: “The results we got on the road were fantastic. There were tough places to go and long journeys as well, but we got the points in the end.

“We came back to Macron Stadium and thankfully treated the fans to another three points. Hopefully we can keep it going into next week’s game as well.

“We are fully aware that we are going to have some long away trips this season. We’ve got to keep doing what we’re doing out and hopefully we come out with another three points next weekend.”
