......obviously not a review of today's Bolton game.
Congratulations go out to Salford City Reds in what was an absolutely fantastic game that really does put any game of football played this weekend to shame.
4 minutes to go Salford trailed 18-10. A try with 3 minutes to spare and a hastily booted conversion so they could get on and push for what must of seemed like an impossible task in getting another with a couple of minutes on the clock.
They did though. As a team. A huge last gasp push of what little they had left in them and they tied the game with literally the last play of the game.
They didn't manage to convert the kick again so it went to golden point in extra time where the guy who missed the conversion, only a minute into extra time, scored a 50 yard drop goal right between the sticks to keep their super league status and win the MILLION POUND GAME.
Now a million pound means nothing in football now, but the face of every Salford player and fan in that stadium (hull kr's) showed the world how much it meant to them.
A season where a lot of Salford fans and players and staff feel a grieved by the RFL. Deducting a record 6 points for a salary cap breach and making an example of Salford at every opportunity.
It would have been easy for them to just accept their fate, throw in the towel and give, what it seemed to be, the RFL what they wanted.
If we had just 10 percent of the passion shown by SCR, we would of hammered Oxford today.
Alas, an example needs to be taken.
