I don't know if you call it the 'North Manchester Classico' or the 'South Central Lancashire' derby, but it's great to get one on over your rivals.

I reckon that you could have had 10,000 there if the Polis had allowed it.

A great result though for the west part of the north Manchester Central Lancashire Whites.

Second now.  Cool

Due to mixed fortunes, we haven't played Bury that often historically. Shame really as with Gigg Lane being actually located in BL9 (Bolton) it's handy for a lot of folk. Yes it's great to get the win - in fact it's great that we even exist to play in the game, but although we are firmly focussed on escaping this division, I still hope that one day we'll be back to where Burnley are ATM - beating Everton in the Premiership. To get there, we need a bit of luck to get promotion and then a friendly gazillionaire to make BWFC his pet project because Anderson and Deano really don't have anything like the dosh required.

Just absolutely made up that we finally won a league game at Gigg Lane. I've been to every game we've played there since I started watching Wanderers aged 7. It's always a great atmosphere but we could just never beat the bastards at the Gigg (and even at Burnden they were a bogey team for many years in the old 2nd division). One match that has stuck in my mind all these years was the 1965 match which was a 1-1 draw. (I was 10). Colin Bell was playing for them and at 1-1 with about 10 minutes to go we were awarded a penalty. Franny Lee never used to miss 'em but he was out injured so Gordon Taylor stepped up and missed it. I can still remember now the pain I felt at that miss and how I bore a grudge against Taylor for months afterwards.

My only regret was that we had to be kept in at the end. Bang out of order!
