Felt a tinge of sadness looking at the pictures of Burnden coming down. It was a second home to me,and holds a place in my heart that the Macron will never fill.

After watching the Bolton v Reading game in 1996 bb where Super John went in goal, your spot on. I doubt whether the Macron could ever replicate an atmosphere like that night at Burnden.

It's a largely forgotten game now but one that will always stick in my memory is a League Cup game against Norwich back then.
They were a big shot team back then (it might have been around the time that they beat Inter in the UEFA Cup but I might be wrong) and they came to Burnden and I think we were 0-1 down at half time.
But then Rioch weaved his magic and we absolutely destroyed them in the second half.
That was Burnden for me.
Tuesday night after work, limited expectations but unbelievable results delivered on the back of a fervent crowd screaming the team on.
Can't see that happening again for a while.
