Utter tugboat in my view, but it's increasingly looking like my view's out of step with the modern world, so make your own minds up.

A real charmer but what do you expect from anyone from UKIP, can these people not see that trying to privatise the NHS would be political suicide?

The whole: "Privatisation brings competition which automatically delivers improved service" argument gets right on my teds.

Because (where the NHS is concerned at least), not only is it untrue, it's dangerous.

People are dying every day in British hospitals because the government is squeezing resources down to dangerous levels, as they try and justify flogging off bits of the health service to their mates in the private sector in the spirit of "competition and improved service."

It's bullshit and it's dangerous.

Pressure to deliver more with less resource results in corners being cut and risks being taken.

Which is fine if you've got a factory making chairs.

Nobody's going to die if you fuck it up and go too far.

The same can't be said about hospitals though, can it?

The Trust i work at (on occasion  ) is on it's arse. We are in something called internal turnaround which is just a way of trying to justify recruitment freezes for non front line staff (they have to fill posts for Doctors and Nurses or else there would be a riot) and generally cutting back on everything. 

We are constantly being badgered about ways to save money without compromising patient care but i can bet there will end up being ward closures at some stage.
