Some younger Nutters might not understand my last post. (or perhaps any of my posts). So here's a little help.

KP mentioned Red Red Wine and I do have knowledge of that but other UB40 hits, you would have to play them to me and I would know some of them, just not the titles.

I love Lee Marvin's Wand'rin' Star! Lyrical genius.Bread2.0 wrote:That's six.
Well done, mate.
Any more?
Of the other forty four hits what they've had?........
As an aside, I've just Googled what was Number One the day I was born and apparently it was Lee Marvin with Wand'rin' Star".
The Wanderers thing's in there but it was all a bit shit.
Very apt.

Which bit caused the bemusement: The syntax or the fact that such an obviously shite band could have had 50 hits?

been away so i missed this, but i fucking detest UB40, they started out well with 1 in 10 then just ripped off old reggae tunes and made millions (which they all thankfully lost the stupid Brummie twats)
I had loads of mates when i was younger who thought they were amazing and was forced to listen to them loads of times which is probably why i hate them so much now.

Number 1 when I was born was Shakin Stevens with This Ole House.
I was gutted when Shakin Stevens went mainstream.
I saw him and his band (the Sunsets) at a gig in Scotland in the mid-70s and they were pure rockabilly sound with the full crepes and drapes and dancing on the piano a la Jerry Lee. They rocked.
And then they sold out and started singing ballads which TBF made them rich.

My Dad loved Shaky.
He detested a band called Chicory Tip with an equal passion. Never found out why, although they were pretty shite.
