Jack Earing scored his second goal in under a week as Bolton Wanderers Under-23’s drew 1-1 with Huddersfield Town on Monday afternoon.

Wanderers’ controlled the opening moments of the game and saw a number of chances fall their way. George Newell, Jeff King and Alex Samizadeh could’ve all given the Whites the lead, however, they all failed to beat the Huddersfield keeper.

David Lee’s side defended well in numbers and attacked with pace and creativity for the remainder of the half however, they went into the break goalless.

Starting the second half how they finished the first, Bolton’s perseverance soon paid off. King’s smart footwork found Callum Spooner, the defender's cross found Earing who tapped in from close range.

Minutes later, Alex Perry had the chance to double the lead, his shot hit the crossbar before being cleared by the Terriers defence.

It proved to be a turning point in the game as the hosts turned defence into attack, earning a corner. Jake Turner looked to have cleared the danger, however, Boyle’s driven effort found the bottom corner levelling the scores.

The goal injected life into the youthful Wanderers' side as they pushed for a winner. King, Earing, Lavelle and Honeyball all had chances in the closing moments of the game, but were unable to beat a resilient Huddersfield keeper.

Bolton: Turner, Spooner, Lonsdale, Honeyball, Lavelle, Perry, Tanner, Earing, King, Newwell, Samizadeh.
