Wanderers shelled out £282,261 on agents’ fees in the last 12 months, a report has found.

The figure – the fourth-highest in League One behind Charlton Athletic (£608,465), MK Dons (£496,605) and Sheffield United (£284,958) – is well down on the £964,869 paid in agents’ fees between October 2014 and September 2015.

Wanderers are now paying less than a twelfth for agents’ services than they were in 2009/10, which was the highest figure recorded since reporting of the information became mandatory.

According to transferleague.co.uk Bolton paid out a whopping £3,549,316 to agents in Gary Megson’s final season, which also saw the appointment of Owen Coyle for the January transfer window.

Surely that's massively helped by the lack of any actual signings
