Adam Le Fondre should be fit to play some part against his old side Reading tomorrow night.
The striker has been out for more than a fortnight with a calf injury but returned to training at the tail end of last week.
Phil Parkinson kept him out of Friday’s 0-0 draw at Preston North End but could be tempted to bring the experienced front man back on the bench as his side look to stretch their unbeaten run to seven games.
“He was close to being on the bench – he trained Thursday but we thought Preston was too soon for him,” he told The Bolton News.
“If you’ve been injured and you get thrown on after two minutes it’s a big ask when you have missed two-and-a-half weeks of training.”
It remains to be seen whether another Royals old boy, Jem Karacan, gets the nod after being overlooked since the end of September.
Wanderers will have to make one change, as centre-half Mark Beevers picked up his fifth booking of the campaign at Deepdale and will miss the Reading match through suspension.
Parkinson says some of his fringe players are now also making a case for inclusion.
“We are getting better all the time,” he said. “Will Buckley is looking better in training, Craig Noone is yet to really make his mark, Alfie should be back involved , Wilbraham is looking better. We’re getting players back and looking stronger.”
