Tonight at 8.00.
Portsmouth kids put three past us, God knows how many Barcelona B's kids will!
If anybody is going apparently these are some of the kids to look out for -
Gerard Duelofeu is the one most likely to draw attention. The 18-year old shone at this summer's Under-19 European Championships and has already made his Barcelona debut. A right-footed forward, he mainly plays on the left but unlike most Spaniards he is not particularly friendly with the simple pass.
Catalan by birth, fast and direct he is many people’s tip to light up the Nou Camp in the future – although not necessarily immediately. It is not impossible to think he could hone his skills in England and Coyle could be the perfect candidate to help him use the ball more effectively before Barcelona consider him worthy of their style.
For hyperbole, see Cameroon's Jean Marie Dongou. A 17-year-old striker who arrived in Spain through the Samuel Eto’o foundation. Not the tallest, but possessing pure power, and described by Spanish football expert Graham Hunter as “the most awe-inspiring player I’ve seen at that age”.'
Many Catalans already call for his inclusion in the first team. (Barca coach) Tito Vilanova seems reluctant to comply. A season away from the glare and expectancy of hopeful Barcelona fans may be a more viable option for this, undoubtedly, brilliant prospect to start making his name.
In the middle of the park is a skilful player who likes to get forward, Javier Espinosa. He joined La Masia six years ago when he was 13. He reads the game well but is having to work hard on the defensive aspect of his game. It has improved, but an education outside of his Barcelona comfort zone would perhaps improve this player more than most.
Defensively there is plenty to purr over too. Left back Alejandro Grimaldo’s star has risen this summer following sublime performances for Spain u19s. Now 16, he was signed from Valencia in 2008 where he was a more attacking player – similar in style to Jordi Alba. Other players who will be looking to make an impression include centre-back Sergi Gomez, forward Sergio Araujo, who is on loan from Boca Juniors, and midfielder Agostinho Ca, who checked in from Sporting Lisbon this summer alongside defender Edgar Le.
