Apart from driverless cars, there is also the option of installing a device in every car that can control the speed remotely, from sensors on the side of roads.
Who would have thought just a few years ago that speed cameras could get so sophisticated, along with the system to award points, and take your money.

It's a brave and dangerous new world which needs far more regulation than at present e.g. personal data security which is something that is being retrofitted with solutions that should have been in place from the off. My big concern is is the use of genetic data which is so open to abuse. People born with a genetic propensity to get a particular disease or illness could have their whole lives disadvantaged simply because they a higher possibility of becoming ill even if they aren't actually ill. Those with desirable genetic traits could be fast tracked into positions of influence regardless of their actual ability. Insurance companies for example could quadruple the cost of premiums with certain genetic make ups. Employers could use genetic propensity as an employment selection test and ultimately people could select their partners on the same basis. A whole new underclass which takes no account of reality could be inadvertently created if we're not careful.

Ive been worried about people losing jobs to computers for some time. Particularly low paid, low skilled jobs.

We've already seen people on supermarket tills replaced. You can check in to hotel using a computer. Buy train tickets. Taxi and delivery drivers will go next. I'm sure you can automate a lot of industries, the technology is already there.

Where will all these people work in the future when they get binned off?

They can join the team of helpers who carry Nat to work every morning.

The same thoughts were voiced some years ago, and it was thought that we would all have more leisure time, and that it was a good thing. The dynamic has changed incredibly, where there are now too many people for the jobs, and people are getting less leisure time than before.
There was a recent spate of reports saying how AI, etc is advancing and how it will help. I believe it wont just help but is now needed, to assist with the management of so many people and their personal requirements. Also, to keep up with the demand, of manufacturing, medicine, and general day-to-day life.
Of course the problem is keeping it safe and effective, and we've seen that the care of personal security, the handling of complicated and ever-growing systems, along with the dependence on fail-safes, etc, still has some way to go before we can happily banish thoughts of it to the background.
